What We Do & Who We Are

The MECC Regional Council of Governments is a collective partnership of township and municipal governments to effectively manage shared services and programs, including public safety dispatch operations, Fire/EMS medical direction, and technology services.

We operate under a council of governments model, ensuring that participants have a voice in decisions pertaining to the services provided. The Governing Board of the MECC Regional Council of Governments consist of the following Founding Members:

    • Jefferson Township (Franklin County)
    • Mifflin Township (Franklin County)
    • Truro Township (Franklin County)
    • Violet Township (Fairfield County)
    • Plain Township (Franklin County)

As authorized by Ohio Revised Code Section 167.03, the Council promotes cooperative arrangements and contracts among its members and other governmental agencies and private persons, corporations, or agencies. Services provided include but are limited to dispatching for fire service and emergency medical services; operational costs and maintenance required for telephone system hardware and computer aided dispatch system; EMS medical direction and protocols; and shared technology systems with County and law enforcements agencies.
